I know this is a little different than a normal eichel trade, but I was intrigued.

I'm not too bothered about the value, I'm trying to figure out the cap. NECAS IS UNTOUCHABLE IN AN EICHEL TRADE

So basically your prospect pool outside NHL for a top10 C in the league?

There's pretty good value there, but I'd be willing to bet almost anything that BUF is not moving the guy without getting at least one established NHL player back.

I think you have the value right, but it probably means trading away one of Niederreiter or Trocheck for cheaper options so that you can carry at least a 22 man roster

That’s basically what the sabres want.

What's scary is that this doesn't touch Morrow, Gunler, Puistola, Tieksola, Ponomarev, Honka, Fensore, Lafontaine, Kochetkov, Makiniemi.... there's still a LOT of good prospects in Carolina, even with trading a lot of high-end prospects out.

I literally said I don't care if the value is right or not. Why post anyway?

For cap purposes probably put Fast in whatever deal is to be able to carry at least 21/22 guys all year.

Then you have to find a replacement. Quicky is a VERY capable 3rd line guy, and the fact he's on the 4th is just spoiling this roster really.

Jarvis and Drury can have shots on third line wing with staal and Nino.

The entire point was to replicate the Trocheck trade on a far bigger where there were no picks going back. The last deal they made that included moving picks away that wasn't the draft was the Skjei/Vatanen deals

Getting all picks and prospects makes the most sense.

Not really when you can't develop them.

Can't recall when they've succeeded in developing a young prospect that is not a top three overall pick.

Wasn't Olofsson a 7th rounder?

Fwiw he was developed by Frölunda. He debuted in NA 4 years after being drafted.

Yeah if you want to try a trade with no picks that’s fine I think conceptually but think there are better ways
