This is a very fair trade

The only change I would make is swapping Lundkvist for Schneider

Eichel starts with Kakko, Seth Jones got a top prospect in return, so can Eichel

I agree

The first part was just mocking Rangers fans saying Kaako is untouchable

Trust me, I have seen all the "Eichel for a bunch of spare parts and a 1st" trades

Ok let me rephrase, tell me you don’t know small potatoes without telling me you don’t know small potatoes.

(To be clear, the trade that @Devil1122 listed is indeed fair).

The problem is that there is a difference between Boqvist and Kakko in value. Boqvist is a closer to Lundkvist than to Kakko in terms of quality.

The return is almost precisely what I want in an Eichel trade. It provides a potential elite player in Kaako, two good potential futures in Schneider and the 1st and it also addresses a couple of immediate needs (centre depth and goaltending). I think it is likely one piece too many though; as a Sabres fan I had proposed the same return from the Rangers with the Sabres adding left shot d-prospect Ryan Johnson.

No question. But if Boqvist is considered a top prospect, I don´t know why Lundkist is always just a throw-in

I like your perspective! I honestly don't think Ryan Johnson is really a need in NYR, Maybe a 3rd would even it out

Lundkvist isn't really a throw in, but I don think he is Boqvist level just yet

While this is true, us Rangers fans are simply not comfortable giving up so many valueable pieces. I mean there is a decent amount of Rangers fans who would be willing to part with Zibanejad as a tradepiece altough he is beloved by the fans. And giving up Kakko + other prime pieces is something I would only do if he was guaranteed fully healthy at the start of the season without any future neck issues.

Sabres shouldn't trade Johnson or give the Rangers anything other then Eichel.

Fair enough. But my view is that the trade proposed here is more than what the Sabres will get for Eichel from any team. One of the pieces, other than Kaako, would need to come out.

Rangers decline. Maybe if Eichel was healthy they'd consider it. But he's not. And everyone knows it. And so the Rangers aren't trading Kakko for him

Funny stuff here as usual. Other fanbases chiming in not enough, all busts and throw ins.
Sure if: Jack had a neck, no flat cap and we had F prospect depth.
We'll let U have him: Holtz, Zacha, Smith, Daws & 1st or Zadina, Vrana, Wallinder, Cossa & 1st.
