Initial Creation Date: Aug. 28, 2021
Published: Aug. 28, 2021

Description
Martinook is versatile and good on faceoffs but Bokk can be the real prize.

I realize that Pearson has a NT clause but you never know unless you ask.

That’s not what they mean, they want a top 6 scoring winger. Not an expensive third liner.

Can I ask you why either team trades players they just signed. Your post, so have fun, but from a realistic standpoint, teams generally don’t trade players they just signed or Re-signed.

Also, Martinook is a winger not a center on a regular basis. He’s certainly not a 3C as a regular situation. He only played C for canes this year in desperation

Pearson isn’t the LW they’re after. Need a top 6 winger who can score.

Also marty just extended and while on ice he’s very replaceable (you have him way over slotted given his abilities), they can’t afford to trade him immediately especially when they’ll need his leadership in the locker room

Throwing out the 20/21 shortened season and looking at 19/20, Pearson had the same number of points as wingers Palmeiri, Kreider, Burakovsky and DeBrincat. Only Kreider (24) had more goals than Pearson (21). That is more than anyone on the 'Canes 2nd line. Pearson is a bargain compared to Trochek and Neiderreiter. He is a veteran presence, can play both PP and PK and was a 1st round draft pick. The reason I would trade him is for cap spaces and hopefully a good prospect, not because he isn't a good player.
