Nobody is giving up a 1st + top prospect for Monahan. And your Flames offer isn't good enough to land Eichel

That trade SUCKS for PIT. Lucic is on a terrible contract, hes not even worth a 7th let alone Pettersson and a 3rd

You been around long? At this point Monahan is the most underrated player on the site. If he was on an expiring deal he would easily fetch a 1st+good prospect at the deadline, the value for a 26yo established top 6 centre who is money in bank for 20 goals every year, generally around 30, with 2 years left at a reasonable cap hit, should be high. This is one of the first trades for futures that’s in the realm of realistic for Monahan on this site.

Pettersson is a sub-par dman on a terrible contract for twice as long as Lucic's. Pittsburgh could use the grit and some new leadership in the room, he is a locker room favorite in Calgary, Pitts actually save over 2 million in cap space over those 4 years. Sooooo how is this so terrible again?

I guess you missed the three way part with Montreal, Buffalo ends up with more than enough and more than fair for Eichel.

Pettersson is 25. Lucic is in his 30's. Pettersson is signed longterm because he is younger. Were not trading Petty for a guy who can only hit.
