So is it your belief that Hintz + Kessel + McCann > Marner + Kerfoot?

What kind of world are you living in?

On behalf of the jackets we accept a 3rd for kerfoot. Or a domi at 50% and a fifth for kerfoot.

To be fair hintz is super underrated on this site. However yeah the math doesn’t add up.

Sometimes I just get tired of people making Marner trades for people that don't have the same kind of production.
Is Marner overpayed? HELL YES!
Is Marner a point a game producer in a season? YES!
So if you're going to move Marner, you at least have to maintain the production he was giving!

Well if your moving an “overpaid” gambreaker for someone to output the same production your going to pay more.
I agree that marner has been mashed on this site to a stupid Margin however to expect a player of equal caliber with a lesser caphit coming back, isn’t realistic either.

Yes he is underrated. He was producing at a little over one point per game last year in a suffocating defensive system.

I agree with that completely. In my opinion, the Leafs can't win a Marner trade. The contract exists and you'll just have to live with it, hoping that maybe the next deal is better.
In my opinion, the only Leafs that you can move out for decent value is Reilly and Kerfoot. Aside from that, you're going to have to go with what you have.

Seattle's biggest weakness is at center, so why are they moving McCann?

Stars probably wouldn't even do that trade 1 for 1 let alone adding a 1st and Harley. Hintz is a centre and is cost controlled, Marner is making $11m and is a winger.

Marner needs to carry his own line at this point. If he can get a secondary scoring winger from 18-22 goals up to 30 goals that would be the most ideal outcome. Mathews can score on his own and shouldn’t need another superstar to pair with him
Toronto should target cheap Young guys who have good shots but not great setup partners. . (Bemstrom could be a target if he falls out of favor with columbus as a cheap experiment.) but with a gaping hole on the 3rd rw spot I see him filling it quite well.
Mathews and nylander should be the pair and John and Mitch should be the other pair. Get a good shooter on that marner Tavares line and there set. I think foligno could have done great work as the 3rdman on the Austin Willy line but it didn’t work due to injury.

He isn't really overpaid. He's a top 5 winger in the league. He's money well spent. Anyone who thinks teams would say no to getting him because he gets paid a lot are just lost. Although there are GM's who would say a young superstar should make much less and then go and give the Ladd's and Hyman's of the world huge long term contracts that immediately look bad.

he's also older than Marner (6 months, older but older still, it's not like he's 21) and has one season at just over a ppg with his other two being closer to 0.5 ppg. Marner on the other hand has one season under ppg and his worse season (his rookie year on a terrible team with tyler bozak as his C) he rocked an 0.79 ppg,
Hintz is under rated, but Marner has become probably the most under rated player on these boards

This people must not watch Marner play, it's all in good fun though. The leafs will never trade Marner, Nylander will be the one to be moved.

Hintz 41 games and 43 points, McCann 43 games 32 points, Phil 56 games 43 points =118 points
Marner 55 games 67 points, Kerfoot 56 games 23 points. =90

He's the 2nd best 2way winger (Marchand). 4th league scoring. If he played the last game of the year he would have lead the league in ice time for forwards 2 years in a row. I think he finished 6th in takeaways in the league. He's the only leaf on the #1 unit in every situation. 17 points in his last 19 playoff games - Matthews 17 points - Hyman 5 points. If he stays healthy, he will be in the top 5 in scoring every year till his contract is up.
