i just figured its jack friggen eichel so why not & leafs dont need a top 2 D thats an old narrative, they have Muzzin and Brodie who are both top pairing defenceman

Makes no sense for TO. Have centre depth, adding to cap they don't have, and Eichel wants a surgery that's never been performed before. No idea how it pans out.

Brodie and Muzzin are a solid top 4 dman on a cup contending team... that's the problem. The leafs has a good roster, but they miss a key d man and poise to get over the hump.

I know it's fcking jack eichel, but i don't see the point of Toronto doing this. I will be more scared of the leafs if they have a top d4 like this :

the ? is hard to find because all of the d market is close i belived but a guy like seth jones or a Parayko could be deadly, but they're not avaible

Muzzin, Brodie and Rielly are top pair defenders on a pile of teams. They just finished 7th beat defensively last season and were in the apparent all offence division. (One of the funny things thrown around on here). That should have put the "Leafs don't have defence" fallacy to bed but here we are.
