I think teams would be willing to take that contract from NSH for this package. There's no way they send Carrier, a 1st (which could be early), and a 3rd to dump Duchene. Then asking them to take back even more money is just not gonna happen.

why do we want Weber's LTIR contract again? He's either going to LTIR or he is retiring. Nothing Nashville says can change that and having him on the team for a year or two doesn't do much to change the cap recapture penalty. The die has already been cast and there's nothing we can do at this point to change it.

Duchene's cap we can handle. Hurting a rebuild and putting the team back years hurts more than Duchene's caphit and salary.
