I think the Jets would just wait for him to hit waivers if they want him.

Well..... if they let KK walk, that centre corps right now is Suzuki, Evans, Paquette and ????

Now we can be sure Bergevin is working the phones trying to figure something out, but 2C's don't grow on trees.

We will know that direction in 5 days and counting.

Yeah for one year… they’ll likely have 2 first rounders in a above average year then come back stronger in 2022-2023

that sort of makes sense but I just cant see it. its not typical of a GM to do that kinda thing. They could use the extra first as a trad chip. and there are centres that could be available like Hertl, strome, and Dvorak or even Eichel

Issue is, outside of Eichel, I am not sure they are "that" available. I see hertl staying in San Jose, Dvorak staying wherever that franchise ends up (unless the return is unreal)..... even Strome I would debate.

The timing of the offersheet is such that for the most part, rosters are set......

For me, Bergevin's only move now is matching KK to make him the centerpiece in an Eichel deal. And reports are Eichel will be missing camp so, that centre corps is still thinner than a sheet of paper.

Yup that’s unlikely of Bergevin especially in the last year of his deal but that’s what I would do maybe not tanking like Buffalo and Edmonton did but not trading our 2 first unless it’s for Eichel
