This would be absolute highway robbery. Bruins fans likely want dvo but I think they’d riot at that price

Take out everything but the first round pick. That might still be a bit much for a decent 3C

If they wanted a late 1st for him he’d be gone already. A decent 3C is a good one though

Takes two to tango. No one is giving up a quarter of that.

Bet he’s gone to Montreal after they don’t match KK. Can’t really sell the fans on not making the playoffs after a cup trip. Desperation is a lovely dance partner

Dvorak isn’t getting them to the playoffs.

Nope sure isn’t, but he likely lands them Montreal’s first which then turns into a top 12 pick

That’s a far cry from debrusk, studnicka, a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Oh don’t get me wrong, this trade offer was insanity. If you look at my original post I said you guys would probably like Dvorak but would riot in the streets at that price. My main issue was when you said just one late round 1st for him. He’s likely to fetch Montreal’s 1 and 2, and depending on how desperate the habs feel, maybe a 2 or 3 next year. I’m good with all picks for him at that price, no chance he gets those picks, plus plus plus

LOL - This offer is so bad for the Bruins it's hilarious - evidently Dvo is now the second coming of Jesus for hockey

Not even sure he lands you Montreal's 1st and 2nd - again seeing as most teams are somewhat set, they are better off holding Dvo to trade deadline hoping some teams gets desperate to make a silly offer. He is a 36pt performing 2nd to 3rd line centre. I mean right now his pts per game is the same as Charlie Coyle from a performance stand point - why pay anything unless it is a significantly above and beyond what you have.

Really think Montreal is the candidate to do it. They were going to run KK out at 2C, and Dvorak is a pretty strong addition over what he’s shown so far. For the next 5 years I think dvo will be what stepan was. 50-55 points, good two way player, a good 2C, championship caliber 3C. He was on pace for 25 goals this year, and with better line mates probably throws 25-30 assists out there. He’s a really good net front player. A 1 and 2 is expected. Extra depends on how good Armstrong is at negotiating

Yeah that is fair and your comments around desperation hits the nail on the head. Given the fact the habs lost Denault and are on the verge of losing KK their depth a C is not ideal given the players on the wings they have right now. Given what some of the other players were moved for this off season, I am not sure Dvo will demand a 1st on any other day, but perhaps the Habs in desperation pay the price - otherwise its best for the Yotes to wait and see if they can get an over payment at trade deadline.

I think this was about as good as Arizona could’ve hoped for. It seems they were content to hang on to him, but what they really want is picks in the next two drafts. Enter Montreal with only Suzuki really holding down a center spot with KK gone. Paquette is something but not much. Montreal has nothing and they can’t sell the fan base on being good enough to go to the finals and not the playoffs the next year, even if the run was a fluke
