honestly he's a good Dman but bc its so hard to find RHD rn its a bit of an overpay. I dont think he's worth more than Savard (he got 3.5mil). around 3.5 mil seems more realistic

I just looked through the Hawks prospects and this trade just became even better in my eyes. Murphy has been a fantastic defenseman for a couple years now and should stay good for a couple years. He's been the only real bright spot on the blue line. But, just to add onto this, Connor Murphy has apparently hyped up prospect Wyatt Kalynuk. So this signing should extend long enough to allow him to be a mentor for Kalynuk when he comes up.
