For all we know, that unprotected first might end up in the top 15 in one of the best draft ever…. Dvorak is a 35 pts 3C whos great at face off. Nothing worth a first and a big time prospect. 2x2nds and a guy like Mysak is the max Id pay

Of course when Arizona sees that Carolina overpaid for KK (6.1) for one year and gave first and third. Shouldn't the return for 4.4m X 4 years superior Dvorak be much higher?

have a feeling kk is gone. a lot of money, the habs had a Stanley cup run(lucky, flucky or not bergevin considers it legit) and bergevin doesn't seem to be one to hate admitting he's wrong if it makes his team better.

Id guess and hope Hertl is option 1 but depending on the price this guy is a good second option. wins face-offs and had a solid season and has control for pretty cheap

4 years at 4.5 for a solid 2 c and you only get a probable playoff team's first and third. that's not enough especially when you hold the trade in your hands. why move him now for nothing.

At 25 y. o. Dvorak never got a 40 points season even if he has quality time on ice (PP included) with quality wingers.

KK got 34 points at his rookie season playing on the bottom 6.

    No.

If they take the picks I'd rather see them go for a more interesting top 6 C. They have Evans and Poehling, these guys can become C's in the mold of Dvorak, the habs need someone with more upside for the top 6 IMO.

Hertl has a list of only 3 teams that can trade for him.

Excluding the San Jose Sharks, there are 31 other teams in the NHL.

That means the odds that Montreal is on his list are slightly under 1 in 10.

The same can be said about Ottawa.

Bergy can phone his old team mate Stevie Y and ask about Larkin.

So I'm factually right when I say he never had a 40 points season.

Had the two seasons not been shortened due to Covid he would likely of hit the 40+ point mark was all my point was.

Dvorak got 33 points in his rookie season.

Dvorak had 31 points in 56 games this year given the covid shortened season. That's about a 44 or 45 point pace.

In the last 3 years Dvorak has 146 GP 37 g and 76 pts
Same time period Kotkaniemi has 171 GP 22 g and 62 pts

Now most certainly it needs to be pointed out that Dvorak entered the league 2 years older and is 4 years older.

But given the huge salary differences and the fact that Dvorak's is locked in through his prime.... Id be tempted to take Dvorak over Kk

Do you believe the Carolina Hurricanes will miss the playoffs?

That's the only way the unprotected 1st might end up in the top 15.

PIT, WAS, NYI, PHI and NYR can all be better than CAR
