I’m confused why people keep trading for Mangiapane if they think he’s so bad that he could be had for a pathetic package like this. Either you think he’s good and are deliberately underpaying to aggravate people or think he’s mediocre and are stupid, can’t see the in between.

I already said this isn’t realistic lol

but the thought process behind was that the Flames get a player in Brooks who can develop into a middle to bottom 6 forward, Engvall who can replace Mangiapane right now and a 2nd in a relatively deep draft🤷🏻‍♂️ Value aside due to non-realism, it fills needs for the Flames (especially if they move Monny)

Brooks is 25 he isn’t developing into anything more than he is, which is a spare forward. Engvall is an overpaid 4th liner. When people say deep draft it’s because the first round is stacked, and you’re more likely to get a good player with a mid-1st than you normally would. This is irrelevant past pick 15 in most cases. Mangiapane is an elite scorer at even strength (top 25 over the last two years, can’t remember his exact spot) and a stellar 2-way player who would be receiving Selke consideration if the Flames were a playoff team. A handful of spare parts doesn’t come close to a guy like Mangiapane, who will likely score 25 goals next year.

I’m gonna be honest, I think you missed the part where I said this isn’t realistic lol
