Description
I know, you may (or may not) have seen lots of ACGMs like this, putting Drouin at centre. But recently I did see an ACGM that provided validation that Drouin being at centre may not be the worst idea (https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2750923 credit to Shanesaw9). If we want to buy a young top 6 centre, it's going to cost a lot.

If you want to sign someone like Bozak or Galchenyuk, someone will have to be traded. There's no doubt about that.

Put Drouin with good wingers and hopefully he thrives. Sell hard at the TDL.

To make up for the losses on offense and defense, sign some guys to play in the AHL, then call them up to eat minutes in the NHL

???? Agree with you not to match. But why go crazy with all that movement. Habs have cap space, and more without KK. Just acquire and there are some still unsigned UFAs who will be just as good as KK at centre. No need to put Drouin at centre. Just use the cap wisely to get two moderately priced centres.

Just suck one year and hope for Wright or Lambert at the top of the draft. This team will be great in 2-3 years

In 2-3 years, Price, Anderson, Gallagher, Petry, etc. are all going to be that much older. Plus, then you'll be paying Suzuki and Caufield big bucks. The time to add is now, not subtract. Plus, "Sucking for one year" to get a top 3 pick isn't as easy as it may seem, considering there's 8+ teams that are all significantly worse than the Habs.
