AAV is good. A bit long on term, but that seems to be the market.

Pretty sure you can drop the "unconfirmed" tag, seeing as how the team has announced it.

Wow, term may be a little much but this is a perfect contract for team and player.

This is excellent.

As a Stars fan I don’t want the Blues to do well, but it gives us some leverage for the Klingberg contract.

Overall this is solid.

probably just waiting to see if there are any clauses. I've noticed several other contracts this summer are unconfirmed and then add those in.

Hes dropped off the last 2 years. I think this will be fair for the first 4 - 5 years then crappy at the end.

Really good contract for Parayko. Interesting how they essentially went for identical cap hits with Krug/Faulk/Parayko. To me, Parayko is potentially the best value of the trio, even though I think that all three are good defensemen. He's only making a million more per year here than what he currently gets. Considering just how grossly overpaid some RHD have been this free agency, that's pretty good for St. Louis.

Great deal, Parayko is a solid number 3 D and sure he could fall off towards the end but good value

Didn't expect the Blues to sign him this quickly. Good signing though.

Its funny any other summer I'd say its a good cap hit, but a little long for his style of play starting at 29 as I think the last 3 years he may be broken.

This summer my reaction was: omg this is an incredible deal! lol

Dude is way better than a number 3. He's a crappy #1 or good #2. He is a good but not special top pairing d man

They seem to prefer spreading the wealth here and putting three #2 caliber guys in identical cap hits (Krug/Faulk/Parayko) instead of a true #1.

It's a good in a nutshell but Schenn, Binnington, Krug, Faulk and Parayko all locked through their late 30s at over $6M each is worrying.

I think "contend now and worry later" is the name of the game with STL. They're betting that the injury trouble of last season goes away.

Especially as I worry Schenn and Parayko specifically won't age well, and Krug is a good but flawed player (in the vein of Barrie)

Wow. Fair AAV, but that term... not a fan, but I guess we should expect that from Armstrong. (I also think 65 is his favorite number at this point lol)

AAV is great. Term is bad.

Defenseman on high AAVs into their mid to late 30s is never a good idea.

I'm surprised at the people who say "great AAV but too much term." Why do they think the AAV is that low? Eight years at $6.5 million per year is better than 6 years for $8,666,666, both for player and team.

This is a great deal for St. Louis (as long as Parayko avoids injury). And it comes a year early!

That's quite the exaggeration. He struggled early last season because he was playing with a back ailment, and he's had inconsistent partner after inconsistent partner switched in and out during those two years. When fit, Parayko himself has not been the problem.

Never? I'm not saying Parayko will age like Chelios, but never is hardly accurate.

Unconfirmed is used until all contract details are confirmed: salary structure, any signing/performance bonuses, trade clauses, etc. Rumoured signings are never posted officially, so the unconfirmed part is used exclusively for details.

I really like Parayko as a player, hopefully his back injuries don't resurface
