Aho is better than Eichel, and it's not close. Eichel was on pace for 8 goals. Aho was on pace for 30+ again.

if the canes feel aho is better than eichel "and its not even close" then theres zero point in trading for him, why bring in a $10mil centerman to be your second line center when your forward group is already deep? and Eichel played injured last year on one of the worst teams in hockey, let them flip line mates for a year and see how much better aho is.

As for why getting a 2C, this forward core is not deep. It's a top 6 that can score sure. But that's it. Even Nino isn't SUPER consistent. He's very hit and miss. The forward core is the biggest weakness on the team

You are absolutely insane if you are comparing injured jack eichel last season playing maybe 40 games to aho’s best season. If jack eichel is healthy he is the best player on that team. Aho is very very good but eichel is better healthy.

Difference is, we KNOW Crosby was hurt. According to Friedman, Eichel was healthy to start the season, meaning he had an 8 goal pace when he was HEALTHY!
