Totally not trying to be a smarta$$, but why are the Rangers trading away their #1 center?

Overpay for ekholm. If an extension is in place with Zibanejad (which is really really rare), severe underpayment for him.

The rangers trade only makes sense if there trying to get Eichel and already have a deal in place right after this trade.

I don't know that makes much sense since it may cost them either Zib or Strome going to BUF to get him.

Moving Zib and replacing him with Eichel seems like a bad move for the Rangers if they do that. Zib hasn't been that far off of Eichel in terms of production the last few years. To me the Rangers getting Eichel only makes sense if they have both Zib and Eichel.

So move Zib and Strome to make room for Eichel? Makes little sense.

No way Buffalo wants Zibanejad who’s also a rental, and Rangers can’t afford to re-sign him and acquire Eichel at the same time

Yeah, that's my general point. None of it really makes sense.

Lysell is intriguing, but with the retention on Ekholm, taking on a cap dump in Moore, and the pick not being until 2023, I think NSH could do better than this.

0% chance on the NYR trade. Mika is also going to make 8-9mil AAV, Couts is a little too low for him. The rebuild is all but over... doing this just sets the Rangers back further

its like trying to exaplin why a Mcdavid for Evander Kane trade wont happen, its just that bad

Boys these trades are both awful for the bruins, they end up a WAY worse team with a SIGNIFICANTLY worse future. Bruins reject both. They arent even close

I mean there is literally NO FUTURE with this team lol, every 1st and previous 1st is gone, and no more prospects. This GM would be fired so quickly

Rangers would get better offers from every NHL team if they're trading Zibanejad

No they don't. The Rangers are trying to compete for the playoffs now. Moving Zib does the opposite of that.

Yup, but more importantly they're not trading Zib. If they bring in Eichel, it's to have a 1-2 punch of Zib and Eichel.

Again, its to make space for Eichel, so yes they do.

Regardless, its the bruins who reject this initially

Nope. The point for NYR is to have both Zib and Eichel, so the Rangers emphatically say no.

Cool Bruins very obviously do as well. So this trade just stinks lol
