Which is why you’re not giving him away. You’re getting an excellent top six C in his prime and a very good winger

Don’t think isles do this. Why not just roll with their players? Hertl is very good and lebanc is solid but whalstrom has a high ceiling and is cheap and team controlled and JGP is very solid.

Don’t think it’s a bad deal necessarily but just don’t think it makes sense for isles.

SJS should ask for this package but it doesn’t make sense for the isles.

I would absolutely love Hertl. I just don't think they trade JGP and Wahlstrom. What about making this trade a little smaller?

Hertl for 2021 1st, Simon Holmstrom, Bode Wilde and Josh Bailey? Isles will need money-in, money-out to make this work. But I don't think that player with cap will be JGP

On a fantasy hockey site I enjoy occasionally making fantasy deals. It’s not something I think should or could happen, just utilizing the site for one of its purposes. Personally I’m not a fan of seeing Tommy leave SJ but realistically understand that unless the Sharks have a dramatic turnaround season (unlikely) then he is on the move and I’d like to see value pieces coming back and not the literal crap I see on here. Wahlstrom is one of my favorite non sharks.

That’s actually not a bad deal at all. I’m a big fan of Bailey but not so crazy about Wilde. I threw in JGP as he might not be so effective as he is now in 3 years. But I don’t know him so well as I rarely watch eastern conference games

Gotcha - yeah JGP is very valuable to us. You're probably right about 3 years from now, but I'll worry about then. He's crucial on draws, which the Isles are not the strongest. Plays all phases of the game: even strength, PP, PK. Literally does it all

Bailey still a solid playmaker. A true leader and with the Kane nonsense I think Bails would bring a lot to the Sharks locker room. Wilde should still shake out to be an NHLer in a year or two. He's our best RD prospect, and probably the second or third best d depending how highly you rate Bolduc and Salo. Holmstrom is young, played his first AHL season last year at I believe 18 or 19 years old. Plenty of room to grow

This looks terrible to me personally. If Hertl leaves we do not need NHL players like JGP at all. Get a top prospect elsewhere instead

How Oliver Wahlstrom could look "terrible" to anyone is beyond me .

Hes not terrible, the deal isnt enough. Wahlstroms likely outcome is a good third liner. You can probably get someone like Boldy who could end up a real 1c if your dealing Hertl.

We have Eklund who is likely going to be our 1C in a few years. Bordeleau at 2C. Need wings. Wilson Jr said the plan is for Ek to be a C.

Weisblatt, Robins, Coe, Dahlen. We have wingers, we dont need low ceiling safe bets, because the sharks draft a boatload of them late.

Coe's likely ceiling is 3rd liner but will more than likely be a 4th liner. Robins is boom/bust. Wahlstrom is basically a surefire top six mainstay now. But I can see we are not going to agree here.
