I like it. And would be mostly pleased to see Hertl land with a classy franchise but the man is a Center and is most effective down the middle.

The trade is meh. Sharks don't need Bailey right now as they're gonna enter a rebuild after this trade, maybe a second 1st rounder would do better.

Doesnt do anything for the sharks. Id only consider a deal with Dobson I think and even that isnt very exciting

I thought about giving him 2C and moving Nelson to wing, but could always shift guys around if there was an injury or something. Thought he could be most effective on a top line with Barzal though. His two-way game would fit very well here

You could probably flip Bailey for at least a 2nd if you really wanted to. For this to work for NYI it would have to be a money-in, money-out move. And if SJS kept Bailey I think he would be a really good piece for that locker room. A true leader. Especially if Kane sticks around lol

I think it's a strong offer for a pending UFA who in theory could tell the organization to shove it. I know I made it a sign and trade but Hertl does hold the cards. Trust me, I know about losing a good player for nothing. It sucks. Lol

as I said in the post above this one, Bailey is a stud in the playoffs for you guys and I don't think you guys gain that much for losing 2 prospects of value and a 1st for, plus the deal isn't ideal for the sharks if the trade hertl its go go full rebuild mode and bailey does not fit that.... but the value is pretty fair.

This proposed Hertl trade... makes sense actually. I would prefer Dobson or Wahlstrom over Bailey, but I understand that the Islanders see those two as long-term assets for their team and Bailey's contract isn't a Vlasic or EK65 tier mess.

Tbh, I’d much rather part with Palmieri than Bailey. Yes I know that won’t work because we just signed him.

That said, I’d love to add Hertl. I just made a post arguning for the Isles to add a Center-Wing, it just gives Barry infinite options for setting lines. And I don’t think San Jose would scoff at that offer.
