I wouldn't add very much in a Kopitar for Eichel swap. Certainly not two 1sts and a top-tier young player like Vilardi.

It's all moot because I guarantee Buffalo is right at the top of Kopitar's no-trade list (and probably every other player with a NTC) .

So your logic here is MN Wild need a center so they then shoot themselves in the foot to make sure the King's can acquire a top notch center?unsure

Sabres arent retaining and not getting a decent forward prospect, especially when taking back a 10 mill contract, and 1 1st has to be 22

Why would the Sabres want to get 10 years older and halve the years left on the contract

They shouldn't, but LA shouldn't trade away their future Hall of Fame center either. While Eichel has a significantly longer future ahead of him than Kopitar does, there's no guarantee that Eichel ever will become as good as Kopitar is now, even without the injury.

Even if they had all the cap space in the world, the Blues and Wild would not do those trades in a thousand lifetimes. And the Sabres are not taking back Kopitar.

Minnesota, a cap-strapped team who needs centers, trades for Drew Soughty and the entirety of his deal? I think Guerin chooses to keep his job.

Kopitar would probably have to be flipped as a condition of the trade. So whats he worth and is it going to cost buffalo a second retention spot plus additional money? And is a package built around vilardi and firsts- two and three years away worth two long term retention spots and 20 million or so in dead cap for years?

That Minnesota deal is humorous. That’s gotta be the funniest trade I’ve seen in a while.
