Description
Remember, Trades are Negotiations.
As well as most trades these days seem ambiguous as to the motives that the Trades have happened.
We can not say for example Fully whether a trade is a success or failure immediately at First.
Anything can happen.
I thought at first When Nashville Acquired Subban and went to the Cup Finals that they had Definitely WON the Subban For Weber trade.
Then..., Subban got traded to New Jersey and his weakness got exposed.
Meanwhile, just this past season Weber took MTL to the Cup Finals.
Obviously Weber is on the Tail Gate of his career as he will most likely miss the entire season with MTL Retire then become their Next Head Coach or something lmao.

Main point here is ALL trades signings and moves can not be realistically judged until AFTER we see the real life results of the Trade/Trades/3 Way Trade.

Furthermore, my Intent was to Create a Team that has enough flexible moving young parts as to try and re-tool (mini rebuild) the Leafs.

As well as try to Help out the other teams through more indirect means.
Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Boqvist, Jesper
  2. McLeod, Michael
  3. Subban, P.K. ($2,500,000 retained)
  4. 2022 4th round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
Mike+Ker = $ 5.145 M
Subban Ret = $2.5 M

Ret + Acquired Salary= $ 7.645

= +1.355 Mil Cap Savings.
NJD
  1. Hollowell, Mac
  2. Kerfoot, Alexander
  3. Kivihalme, Teemu
  4. Mikheyev, Ilya
Additional Details:
Kimihalve and Hollwell are projected to become good Top 4 Defenders.

Subban Acquired to facilitate 3 Way trade.
2.
TOR
  1. Eriksson, Loui
  2. Fischer, Christian
  3. Hayton, Barrett
  4. Ladd, Andrew
  5. 2022 2nd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Barrett Hayton will be sent to New Jersey to complete the three way trade.

Arizona is cut off from State Support and will most likely move to Quebec next Season.

The extra price to pay for Acquiring someone in Subban that can shelter Soderstrom and Timmons as well as play with the Ghost ~ Bear as well as save the Organization $. Pennies on the Dollar is Worth it.
They have Picks to Compensate as well as they can still Flip Ghost ~ Bear Subban Kessel and so on, so forth for more picks and prospects. In their Re~Re~Re~Re~Re~Re~Re~ (I think you guys get it by now) Rebuild.
ARI
  1. Subban, P.K.
Additional Details:
Neither Loui Ericksson nor Andrew Ladd I believe are Physically fit enough to play in the NHL. The Idea here is that they will just be honored guests of "Robidas" Island.

Why do leafs fans keep trading Kerfoot to Jersey? There is massive bad blood between them

Do they even really need a 3C?

If Boqvist gets traded or is unable to play canter they need a 3/4C (depends on where McLeod would slot in). I also don’t believe that there are any hard feelings between Kerfoot and NJ, at the point he left he felt there wasn’t any room down the middle for him to play after drafting centers in 3 straight first rounds. I like this string of trades for NJ. Ending up with a center core of Hughes, Hischier, Hayton, and Kerfoot seems pretty nice

You lost me for a bit at "Kivhalme and Hollowell project to be good top 4 defenders". One is a 26 year old with 0 NHL games played, and the other is a 22 year old undersized offensive dman that gets pushed around in the AHL...what does that project to in the NHL?

Moving on though, if the idea here is that Hayton gets sent to NJ at the end of this, and all Arizona gets is 1 year of a retained Subban, not a chance. It's also not like they're paying a ton for the Ladd/Loui contracts. Both are also expected to play this year.

And the whole "Arizona to Quebec" thing is a pipe dream. The Yotes just submitted a proposal to build a rink in Tempe. Does that mean that it's a guarantee? No. But it certainly shows that the team intends to stay in Arizona.

He shouldn't unless either Jack or Nico go down. He was a completely different player last season playing LW instead of 2-3C.

He can, but is better offensively on the wing.
18 points in 17 GP last season as Nico's LW.

Whether or not it's worse or better isn't the main objective. I just want to see lineups that can play with more versitility and Chemistry. That are still young enough to be moulded and developed into something greater.
The Season will be a dog fight for the Leafs no matter what. They could have CROSBY Hypothetically speaking and STILL miss the dang playoffs.

It depends who makes it out of camp

But I doubt we'll need one. Boqvist could be the 3C
