Description
Thing go well but not well enough, as I project Montreal just so misses out of the playoffs finishing with a 14th overall pick in the draft.
Shed some fairly impactful depth options for cap room and got cheaper players back. Dumba Trade is a throw back to the Minny GM's we did a few weeks ago. Was going to change the deal but i just left it. Maybe take brooks out and just stick with some picks for Dumba.
Realy hard to move on from hoffman after just signing him and toffoi and anderson fit in so nicely i had trouble trading them. Found a way to keep the top 9 together which i thought was important. Third year is where i would start shuffling things around.

Pens decline. They couldn’t afford Allen if they even paid a 7th let alone a massive overpay like that.

I agree it’s a bit of an overpayment. 3rd round is too much but change that to a later pick and i don’t think it’s too far off. Allen is alright

Maybe for another team. But not for the pens. Last year DeSmith had better stats for like 3 million less lol. I can’t see DeSmith asking for more than Allen. Which would need to happen for the pens to want to spend assets on Allen. Allen is just too overpaid. The only way a trade for Allen happens is if Zucker has another averagish year and they trade Zucker for Allen and late pick or something like that. But even then, I just can’t see that happening.

ya true that like honestly desmith will most likely sign back or they wil get some else better than allen in to play with jarry. It is an unikely spot, for sure be able to send him somewhere.

It's definitely an overpay, but we also have no idea what kind of situation either team will be in come next off-season.

My guess is MAF probably returns as a 1A/1B with Jarry to retire where he belongs lol

Jackets don't need any bottom six wingers and would probably try to trade Carlsson for some other prospect who has been blocked on by the team depth at that position.
