How far off are the values on these trades

Created by: Js43
Team: 2021-22 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 3, 2021
Published: Sep. 3, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This year would be painful but I expect this year to be anyways. With the potential of two top 10 draft picks next year from a prospect standpoint the rebuild would basically be over. I would expect some of the talent from Grand Rapids to make its way up before the year was over.

1.
LAK
  1. Bertuzzi, Tyler
  2. Greiss, Thomas ($1,800,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Detroit takes care of the center prospect depth issue. LA deals from a position of strength and brings in one of the best players available at the deadline.
2.
DET
  1. Kane, Evander ($2,000,000 retained)
  2. 2022 1st round pick (SJS)
SJS
  1. Fabbri, Robby
Additional Details:
If Kane is cleared of all charges. San Jose would be hard-pressed to fit that buyout into their salary cap and would need to add serious assets to trade him. Detroit could bury the contract in the minors and placed him on extended leave to get help.
3.
DET
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (NJD)
NJD
  1. Leddy, Nick
Additional Details:
Guessing on value. No ideas New Jersey will be looking for a left-handed defenseman at the deadline.

  1. 2022 2nd round pick (VGK)
VGK
  1. Stecher, Troy

Speaking just to the Kings trade, I think that we're pretty happy with the way our rebuild is going, and I don't think we would give up on one of our prime prospects for one year plus of Tyler Bertuzzi.

Its going to cost an arm and a leg to convince LA to trade Turcotte, although I would love to see him dawn the red and white

why would the sharks give up a top 10 pick in a very deep draft to get rid of a guy who led his team in points last year? they will keep the pick and let Kane rot in their minors.

I don't see the Devils being interested in rentals or LHD at the deadline

Maybe try to flip Leddy back to NYI (50% retained)

Really really far. That's likely a top 10 pick in a super deep draft.

give up a potential cornerstone piece to dump
a player when we don’t need the cap space this year?
how is that logic?

Why don't you ask your owner's accountant. I'm sure he's happy paying massive amounts to an AHLer for four years.

Detroit declines that San Jose trade. Not even close to enough to buy him out. And no one wants him in a locker room, even a minor league one.

I appreciate the feedback from everybody. Couple of outside the box ideas. It’s hard to know how other Fanbases and organizations view their prospects. I appreciate how passionate the San Jose fans are. We have a couple very deep drafts coming up, But Kane is an albatross and it’s gonna be interesting to see how that’s handled. The Leddy and Stech deals we’re more about overall value and not the teams they were going to needing them. LA fans I don’t blame you. I would put more value on Turcotte as well, but prospects are always a wildcard and never seem to get equal value compared to established players. Also based on your free agent signings I don’t know how you’re going to fit everybody. Although I wish Detroit had that problem. Either way Cheers and Go Wings!

We have the richest owner in hockey… and he wants to build a winner so I think he will deal

I would be interested to hear how you think the Kane situation should be handled? I agree you have a great owner and that he is doing everything in his power to have a winning team, But even if he is willing to pay for that how the you make it work with your salary cap? 7 million a year for four years with all the terrible contracts they have on the books? Not being critical please give me your feedback!

Yea I agree with you, I mean't what you're saying is pure logic. Makes 0 sense to jettison a 1st -- and for our leading scorer at that -- when we can at worst just waive and stash him in the minors at least for this season.

On the Devils trade...right postage, wrong zip code.
He is worth a 2nd, but more likely to a contender.

we are rebuilding, the team will need to build on the last few drafts and work towards regrouping. the big deals just have to run their course and in 24/25 we should be chasing the cup again.

5th, Jets, Kings, Sharks, & AVS all are wealthier. The comment is also irrelevant because owners have to operate with cap constraints so there isn’t an advantage in owner wealth bar having an internal budget.

um, pretty sure he is talking about the Sharks, in which case he's the 2nd richest owner. Who very openly blows money on the team like its nothing: insane contracts, cap limit almost every year, building a 6-rink indoor ice complex, with one of the rinks being an arena for the AHL team nobody goes to see.

There is no chance SJ ever pays a 1st to move Kane.

Good catch, not sure why I thought Kings. Could be stuck on that Turcotte trade. Either way my point stands, owners wealth is meaningless when there are cap constraints.
