    Why do the fans and media think they can offersheets their way out of this?

    They got in this mess bc MB was arrogant in his moves and left himself vulnerable

    He will be even more vulnerable with his other rfas if he try’s something like a EP offersheet.

    I wouldn’t do that if I was Montreal… I would just accept what Carolina has done, and then help your team when it needs it. If they offer sheet, they will create enemies, and then either say bye to Suzuki, or have to match an expensive offer sheet.

    Once you're over the last threshold, it doesn't make sense to tender a five-year contract -- you might as well make it seven. The only reason to offer five is if you want to make it $10 million even and save the draft picks.

    Note that $8.5 million for 6 years and $10 million for five costs the same two firsts, a second and a third.

    The point of the offer-sheet is to make the Canucks decide on either 4 unprotected 1st round picks or a massive contract for Pettersson.

    And to follow up on this goofy idea that TVA sports had :/
