Buffalo needs a young nhl ready forward with first line potential in any deal for Eichel. There is none there.
Breakdown.
Anderson - unwanted
Poehling - 3rd liner
Guhle - nice prospect but Buffalo has Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson, Johnson on LD all 21 or under - not a need
Vejdemo - spare part - unlikely nhl player
Primeau - good goalie prospect, Buffalo has UPL
While it’s a large pile that on paper looks good. It fills very little of what they are looking for and missing the primary piece needed.
Don’t see Buffalo trading Eichel to Montreal without Suzuki or Caufield coming back. Suzuki won’t be moved, so it’s CC.
With stipulations attached to their 22 1sts an Eichel trade is even tougher sell.
23 1st, Caufield, Hillis, Drouin would be more like it.

on what planet is anderson unwanted.
Here is the deal.
Anderson, great power forward, he would slip right into Reinhart's #1 RW spot. He is not wanted because Buffalo wants to tank this year and he would make the Sabres better.
Poehling, he may develop into a mid six center, but currently Cozens and Mittelstadt are looking pretty good right now, he is not good enough to beat them out.
Guhle, probably the best piece of this trade, but unless the Sabres are trading Dahlin, he just does not fit
Vejdemo, unless the scouts are wrong, he appears to be an AHL player
Primeau, the second best piece of this trade, but that would give Buffalo
FOUR really good GK prospects.
2022 1st round pick (
CAR) I think there are conditions attached to this pick.
2022 3rd round pick (ANA)
Buffalo would say no to that offer.
The talent is there just the wrong pieces.
