Insane 3 way trade

Description
This actually isnt bad minus the Contract of Karlsson. Sabres get multiple 1st round pieces that will be on rookie deals to help with cap. Having the two worst contracts in the NHL for 6 years years doesnt sound fun. But we are in another rebuild. After Okposo Girgensons Miller Eakin are gone within the next 2 years that frees up over 12mill in cap alone. Cozens, Eklund and Powers will need extensions obviously before Skinner and Karlsson are up. I think at THAT point we dump picks into getting them off the books. Capitalize Eichs return then worry about Cap (which could increase slightly by then) in 3-4 years. we have the room to keep who we currently have and then some. Worst comes to worst we can bridge Cozens/Power/Eklund until after the two bad contracts are up and then give them a pay day. Until then maximize every deal we can.

Let me know what you think, I'm sure im in the absolute minority here and is open to discuss it.

I added Powers, Quinn, JJP, Eklund and Rosen so you can see the long term on sort of what im talking about.

Easy pass. I want to get rid of Karlsson, but losing all this means we are just as bad as Buffalo so Eichel wont be sticking long

Montreal would jump on that... But they can't offer this year 1st picks since they are in play in the Dvorak trade. Cant send the same pick to 2 different teams.

I see what you mean but they arent. Sharks are not good but atleast we draft well and have some cohesion currently, losing our top prospect, best player and two firsts demolishes our future and we wouldnt be good enough to do anything right now.

These are the condition of the Dvorak trade:
Conditions: The better of Montreal/Carolina's 2022 1st round pick BUT if either or both are top 10 picks then Montreal will instead transfer to Arizona the worse of Montreal/Carolina's 2022 1st round pick.
So MTL Could reverse that for Buffalo:
Conditions: The worse of Montreal/Carolina's 2022 1st round pick BUT if either or both are top 10 picks then Montreal will instead transfer to Buffalo the Better of Montreal/Carolina's 2022 1st round pick.
With those conditions, I doubt MTL would do the Hertl trade as it would leave them without a pick in the first round.
So you are correct MTL would never do that.

On the other hand, that is a great trade for Buffalo.
While Karlsson is over paid he is still a very good RHD.
He would be a great replacement for Ristolainen.
Buffalo now has 4 first round picks this year and three top 15 picks from last year.
Many pundits thought Buffalo should have drafted Eklund instead of Power.
I could not imagine a better return for Eichel.

Yup.

Karlsson isn’t worth losing Eklund and Hertl for Eichel plus likely very high picks.

Karlsson isn’t god awful (plus his style of play doesn’t suit bad teams so if we somehow get good again he’ll probably perform better overall), Eklund 😍, Hertl either resigns or leaves for a handsome return, and our picks could be Wright/ Bedard. Which Bedard/ Wright aren’t worth losing for Eichel imo (when you consider everything going to BUF already).

I like Eichel but;

Eklund, Hertl (or his return), Bedard/ Wright level picks > Eichel
