To me, Boston doesnt seem to have the right tools to give for Eichel. And I dont think the kings would be interested now that they got Danault.

My preference if I am Buffalo:

            1. LAK
            2. VGK
            3. MIN
            4. NYR
            5. BOS

(only top two seem really worthwhile)

LA 100% out. Rangers can’t afford him. Boston doesn’t have the assets . Vegas would be hard to make it work

I disagree on LAK...adding Vilardi and Turcotte would be about the best possible outcome for Buffalo if they had to move Eichel.
That is likely a top-line center and 3C.
Plus another 1st in a loaded draft.

Doesn’t make sense with Kopitar, Danault and Byfield. LA needs to stay the course , move Turcotte to wing and look for a trade of Vilardi for a young LD

Have fun when Tkachuk gets walked right to UFA because Eugene is afraid to spend money

How is he afraid to spend money? You want Dorion to overpay for a top 6 forward in a trade? No thank you. Staying the course is the best thing to do and lock up Brady longterm at a good AAV

I don’t see a fit in Boston trade asset-wise. Your proposal is essentially 5 1st rounders; Boston’s prospect pool is pretty weak, so I doubt Sweeney is ready to hand over 3 firsts in addition to 2 high end prospects. If it were going to happen Buffalo would have to take some cap back in either salary retention, and/or DeBrusk, Moore, Wagner. It’s not a good deal for Boston with their already thin farm, and Eichel’s questionable health.

I was looking at it from Buffalo perspective.
From LAK side, I agree. Makes less sense to do it.
But Sabres should take that package if offered.

Every trade from Boston down make no sense. LA and Minnesota are out, Boston has nothing so its padded with picks, the ranger trade is just bad for Buffalo also padded with picks

Nobody is trading anything like that for Eichel until he’s healthy.

In essence Boston goes 7 years without a 1st round pick.

            2018 - none
            2019 - Beecher - gone
            2020 - none
            2021 - Lysell - gone
            22-24 - traded

Eichel is not worth destroying a franchise for.

Boston couldn’t make cap work, wild can’t make the cap work, kings likely out, doubtful they’ll move him to rangers, knights won’t give up krebs

I don’t see how that trade works with no retention aside from a three way deal which arent common

Calgary has 3 mil in cap space currently. If Buffalo acquires Monahan (6.3 mil) and Dube (2.3mil) as part of the package then the cap difference is pretty darn close to 0. Buffalo then flips Monahan 50% retained to a contending team as otherwise Monahan would likely not waive his NTC

That’s what I mean, the monahan part that’s always tough to do
