Remember Kakko is untouchable for some reason.

kakko's career 114 games 19-21-40

Tobias Rieder first 114 games, 23-24-47 points.

If he’s so bad then, why even bring him up as someone you’d like to acquire then?

I mean Monday quarterbacking is always 20/20. At the time he was the consensus number 2 pick. It is what it is at this point. Hopefully he can develop into a solid top 6 winger. We’ve already a superstar winger in Panarin and another one potentially in Laf. If Kakko gets himself to a solid 45-55 point production I’d be happy.

Kakko is the new Kotkaniemi.

Don’t make the mistake of giving up on a child.

If we do, I can tell in my heart we will live to regret it.

No obviously the pick was kakko, not denying that. Anything else would have been negligent. Im just saying rangers would easily do a 1 for 1 dach for kakko trade rn.
Yeah a 50 point 2 way winger in kakko would be real nice, just not 2OA quality. But i think at this point that ship has sailed.
I liked where the rangers were a lot before the offseason, not so much anymore. As a rangers fan would you rather gorton/jd or drury?

A combination of the two. As much as people complain about Wilson breaking the team, I watch them game in game out and they were not built to survive in the playoffs. They always got manhandled by the Isles and Bruins which at times was embarrassing to see. They needed to get tougher. While the Goodrow contract was too much in my mind, they needed a player like that in the bottom six. Same with Blais. They screwed up the Buch trade, up Blais is someone who’ll help the bottom six as well. I like the Nemeth signing purely from a mentor position for Lundkvist as he makes the jump overseas. It’s never perfect, but no team is perfect with every decision they make. The real key will be to see how they handle the next 2 offseason’s as they will probably shape this team for the next decade give or take. Hopefully it leads to a cup, but I’m down for the ride no matter how it all shakes out.

I don't think Kakko will be a bust (like Brendl, Jessiman, Montoyo, Sanguinetti, McIlrath, Andersson, etc)...but the game does look a little fast for him.

Best I can do is Casey Mittelstadt, confirmed bust, 114 games 17 goals 22 assists 39 points.

Eichel first 81, worst ppg of his career, 24 goals 32 assists 56 points...

That’s a directive from our org, if he’s so bad per your post, then you should not be interested in acquiring him at all. Hence wouldn’t you leave us with our bust.

It's fun to cherry-pick stats. Kakko is really a glorified Tobias Rieder with less speed.

I don’t get it, they talk so much **** about all our young guys and then complain when we don’t want to trade them. I mean if our guys are so ****, there is no reason to even trade for them.

Definitely not someone worth centering a trade for a future top 5 C in the league for

Totally. Not even worth a bag of pucks at this point. As if there isn’t the slightest chance that a 20 year old might still be adjusting to the league, but no complete bust.

I think Sabre’s fans get upset when Kakko is in the same untouchable tier as Laf, and Byfield. when he really hasn’t done anything at the NHL level. I’m sure kakko will be on the table again once Jack is fully recovered from his surgery.

I bet it's fun for you, because I see Sabres fans do it all the time to help their argument that our most valuable assets are busts and that Rangers fans always offer delusional Jack Eichel trades. It's especially convenient when you get to ignore Rieder debuted at D+3, was not nearly as strong on defence (though his is good), and has top-end speed (meaning that Kakko being slower than him is not nearly as big of a concern as you present it).

Then go be upset at our GM for declaring that. Leave us alone

I don’t want Eichel at any point anymore. That neck is still a liability. We’ve already got a number 1 center in Mika. Eichel fully healthy may be better, but the difference is not worth the acquisition price, considering we would be unable to resign Mika if we got Eichel leaving us in the same problem of needing another top 6 center. You guys will send him to a western conference team because the Rangers aren’t gonna do it nor part with the pieces you want.
