The players on the Taxi Squad are the guys I was talking about. Do we sign any of these guys? Or do we roll with our kids again? Or.... do we make a trade before the season begins? Let me know.

I could see Chiasson for grit, not sure where he gets an opportunity elsewhere. Bozak might not want to move for just $1m, he's made plenty and could retire happy. Staal is not very useful anymore, same for Anisomov. The Devils likely will have to find the 3C internally

Of the remaining free agents, I am most interested in

1. Tyler Bozak or Travis Zajac at 1-year deals to play 3C until Mercer is ready.
2. Jason Demers if we trade Subban before season starts.
3. Maybe 1-2 or two big bodies for depth (Mark Jankowski, Frederik Gauthier, Artem Anisimov, Alex Chiasson)
4. Maybe a project like Alexandre Alain (if he returns)

What do you think of Boqvist? I feel this is his make or break year with us.

Agree its make or break for him
He looked good at the end of last year in the center spot. Maybe good 10 or so solid games there.
And quite different from the Boqvist we first saw as 4th line winger under Hynes.
Was a fish out of water in that system...and tended to float at times.

I think Mercer or Sharangovich will end up as 3C for 2023 and beyond.
So we really just have to get a year out of Boqvist (or Clarke, Thompson) at 3C.
