Such a bad trade for MTL!

Vlasic terms are awful (worst than Drouin). Also MB won't give two 1st picks for a rental Hertl.

I mean, if you're willing to take Vlasic, I don't know if the price is that much for Hertl who is a UFA this season....

Also, this would mean Montreal has both Vlasic and Weber for 5 more years. That would have been lights out in 2014. 2021 not so much.

Ignoring the Hertl trade, how is Kulak a negative asset while Byron isn't? Not saying either of them are, but you can probably trade Kulak to a team that actually needs him for a mid-round pick. And why retain $75,000 on Byron? That's 2%, not really worth a retention slot.

Detroit doesn't want Kulak, we already have 8 defenders penned in.

Byron passed thru waiver and no one wanted him. he's at least a 2nd rounder attached to move him

My comment was more focused on the fact that the thread starter got rid of Byron and got an asset in return while Kulak was moved for a negative value. I believe the returns should be more of the opposite because I don't see Kulak as a negative value asset.
