The problem with that Sens trade is that there's upside in a potential Murray bounce back, but there's no universe where Okposo bounces back. It's all downside for Ottawa

if the sens want to save real money the trade makes sense with the sabres but i dont see them doing it, they traded for and signed him to that deal and they need murray way more than okposo to help take the next step. If he sucks again year maybe they cut bait with murray but idk if he got a fair shake playing behind the worst defense in the league last year

Yeah, once he came back from injury and Sens finally knew how to play defense, he posted 0.954 SV% in the 5 games he played

I dont think the Rangers do that. If I were GM, I probably do it if Kakko or Chytil come out of the deal.

And not that this is the point of the post, I dont think Trouba would waive. I know we are presuming he would and this is hypothetical, and maybe its possible, but I doubt it

Yes Okposo is only owed $6MM in real dollars, but the guy had 2 goals last season. This is just silly

Even if by some miracle Buffalo isnt on Murrays 10 team no trade list, theres zero chance you trade out a goalie that you acquired for a 2nd and signed to a 4 year extension only a year ago for what is essentially a cap dump. Okposo's washed and the 6m cap hit is wild. At least theres a chance Murray can bounce back and live up to the contract, hard pass.

It is obvious that I posted these trades as they would make Buffalo a whole lot better while only trading away Jack and Kyle.
I did not put Power into the line up but that defense is significantly better than last year.
Murray in net the GAA average could go down by as much as 0.5 g/m
While the NYR trade is close, remove the 2022 2nd and the 2023 first and it is closer, the Ottawa trade is just silly.
