Cause Dahlin isn't on the block and would require a massive overpay

Who else would you suggest ? 3 - 1st round picks is a pretty steep price for a 1st overall pick who hasn’t succeeded in a less than desirable environment the way people would hope. Especially when as successful as Eichel has been, they were asking 4 - 1st round picks. Plus, Dahlin like a lot of RFAs seems unwilling to sign long term so that should also be a cause for concern

Try Byfield Clarke and that first unprotected...then throw in some more and maybe the sabres would be interested.

If Buffalo somehow got Byfield in that deal, you wouldn’t get much else. He’s essentially going to be better than every player not named Eichel this year, maybe next. The fact you’d want Clarke and next years first (unprotected) plus more is laughable

Not laughable, it's an overpayment, which is what's required for a player that isn't on the block at all

You’re using not on the block as if the teams have as much control over the players as they used to with RFAs but as we’ve seen with PLD and the like, players can force trades if they’d like or essentially make things as uncomfortable as possible to do so. You’d only have to look across the locker room in Buffalo to understand this concept. I wouldn’t be worried so much as Dahlin not wanting to stay long term for obvious reasons so if Adams understands this, the package I recommend could still be considered a win for Buffalo all things considered. I could have prefaced this trade with that information but didn’t so I am now

Take out Clarke and the Kings might risk that deal. Despite his offensive skills, the jury is still out on whether Dahlin will ever develop into a defender. Clarke is already touted as a better defender than Dahlin was in his draft year, and Dahlin's first couple of years have done nothing to dispel that.

I don’t disagree that Clarke could end up as good as Dahlin but he hasn’t had the healthiest environment to succeed in either. I think within a few years he’ll develop into one of the best defenseman in the league. He has a lot to contend with though so only time will tell. Either way, as a Kings fan I’m glad we have Clarke and are extremely loaded on the right side of the defense and this move overall was of course about addressing the left handed defenseman that Blake had talked about previously. Werenski, Hughes, Heiskenen all won’t be available anytime soon so this seems like the safest bet. Other than maybe Sanheim or Girard who I both like and maybe Girard could be available for a price since they have Makar, Toews, and Byram on the rise. Especially since he’s signed long term

The fact you a hockey fan is laughable, maybe u just started watching hockey idk but Dahlin is another level above any prospects the king's have.

If you’re going to insult someone, do so using proper English. Idk if u just started skool but you’re English is subpar. Typical Sabre fan, which is laughable so let’s get that right. I said he will be, I didn’t say right now but then again you’re bit behind in English so I’ll forgive that one. The laughable part is as much as you believe that, Dahlin may not want to stay there long term so even if that’s the case, good luck with that. Especially in that type of environment, Dahlin won’t get to that level as fast as you’d like him to be. Byfield is going to be on another level soon and if not then, he will eventually be on another level even above Dahlin. Good luck with your organization. Owen Powers doesn’t even want to come there this year even though he could step right into the NHL. Now that’s laughable
