Whoa whoa whoa! Let me stop you right there. What’s your definition of franchise? Because that’s a lot of franchise defence men. To me, franchise would be the best of the best, and there would be a very small group of them, because they are way ahead of others. In my opinion, Victor Hedman is the only one. Roman Josi, and Alex Pietrangelo would be close, but they are not as good. Same as Adam Fox…. He’s close already, but not there yet. I believe he has a chance to be one of the best in a few years, but we will see.

Not necessarily hall of fame but like basically the top guys at their positions where they could be fighting for top 5 Dman in the league every year

It’s close, really splitting hairs at this point. I think I value potential on guys like Chych and mcavoy more and also that I think petro and Carly best days might very well be behind them

I understand why you put so many up there then! And yes, I agree with vikhodush on the Nurse statement. He had one good year. Maybe in the future he can move up to that All Star Level, but right now, he isn’t. I like it that you put Werenski super high! Very underrated…

You've got Krug and Faulk in LD, neither is good defensively and neither is as good as Barrie offensively. I mean, Barrie's literally a top-10 guy offensively, that's gotta count for something. He's also won his goal-share at 5v5 for 6 of the last 8 seasons while playing in the top-4, so he isn't so poor defensively that it negates his offensive contributions. Some of those Colorado teams were pretty bad, too.

I mean when ****ty season is still on pace for 60pts/82 , that def means you’re in there. Also Pettersson was injured more than half the season. Teammates count too

Barrie's 71 point pace doesn't even register... honestly I don't think Hughes will ever be a true top guy except when the puck is on his stick. He's the next-gen Tyson Barrie.

Pionk is probably in right category. Definitely drove the 2nd pairing last season and I could see him do well on the top pairing if he had a stud LD partner.
