Richardson goes on! He’s getting older, but maybe he can still be of use to an NHL squad. Surprised to see he’s getting signed before some of the other remaining free agents, though.

It’s true as there are 3 other centres with more upside than Richardson. Only thing I can guess is that Zajac, Bozak, and Staal aren’t willing to sign (yet) for league minimum (or $50k above). That or they aren’t willing to accept a 4th line role.

Doesn’t make sense, unless Treliving is trying to block the prospects from making the main roster

Probably just injury insurance at this point. However, depth signings like this are needed.

Can't go wrong with depth. Plus it's only one year and it can be buried in the minors if need be. Great contract for a depth player.
