Toews is on outside looking in unless he proves he's back.

Marner is likely on the team as he was voted top two in the leagu3 last year (obviously his playoffs changes that story so we'll see)

Toews had a great year but I don't think he's the 2nd Colorado dman to make it. I think it would be Girardi.

I'm not convinced Pelech would make it but bringing them as a pair does have its appeal

That is a mighty old goaltending tandem. But considering MAF's Vezina and prices playoffs it's hard to argue

I think Canada will really value Toews' experience and his ability to play a matchup role. Unless he shows that he's missing a step this year, I think he'll have an edge.

I wouldn't be surprised if Marner made it, especially as a tandem with Tavares. His defensive awareness also helps. 5 of the players in the bottom 6 (excluding MacKinnon obviously) could be subbed out for someone else. If Canada brings Hyman as McDavid's wingman, then someone else has to be cut too.

Toews would be taken as Makar's partner more so than him as a player. I think Pelech and Pulock are strong contenders to make the team as a pair given their defensive/two-way ability. Pelech would be similar to Canada bringing Vlasic in the past.

Goalies are just Price and whoever is playing the best before the Olympics. If Binnington is on a heater then its him and Price. But Price is a lock for at least a backup role given his experience.
