Stecher

Created by: Poehling
Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 8, 2021
Published: Sep. 8, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I don’t think DET could land a 2nd round pick for Stecher
I gave up ANA 3rd, which will be a high 3rd round pick
Kulak could play the entire season or be flip at the TDL

DET will have Hronek and Seider locked as top 4 RHD so Stecher could be trade for future IMO

No use for Kulak really but that's not a bad return for Stetcher.

I agree. But I wonder if DET will wait for the deadline to enhance his value. I could see a tight team to the cap overpaying due to his low cap hit, especially if retained.

Hence why we have no use for Kulak, cause we have Oesterle and Staal.

Most likely waits until the deadline, I could see a team giving us a second or a third plus another mid to late pick for him if he has another decent season. Tampa and Toronto could be reasonable destinations for him. Montreal makes sense as well and that's usually where I trade him when I make my Detroit AGMs.

Well now our left side lines up like this.... Leddy, dekeyser, Staal and Oesterle. So 4 players for 3 spots right now. Lindstrom plays the right side and should get some time as well. We should have hronek, Seider, Stetcher and Lindstrom for the right side if Seider makes the team. So right now no need for Kulak, roster is full, we also have a few LD prospects we can call up in the chance of an injury.

Oesterle is a better defenseman and Staal brings the locker room presence and stability they need. I'm not sure about Lindstrom yet, but Kulak's role in this trade serves no purpose other than cap. I don't think he carries really any value anyways so it doesn't really impact anything.

I could see this being a three-way trade: bring in another team that would need Kulak so the Red Wings could obtain another younger asset/pick.

While Stall gets a bad rap, He played every game for Wings, steady influence for Young D-corp and with Stretcher, they were not great but were not bad. On a team that was a minus in GA, he was only a -5 with 10 points playing big minutes.
