I like most of it - don't think I'd have Petry, Nurse or Ned in my top 10s though

Crosby is still a top 3 center man in the league in my opinion, and Barkov is better than Matthews all around honestly. He doesn’t have as good of linemates, and he doesn’t have as good of a shot, but he is better.

Guentzel > Landeskog in my opinion. Also i'd have Carlson over Jones but I could be biased there.

I agree I might be biaised for Petry. As for Nurse, he's just had a heck of a season, he deserves that spot.
For goalies I had 9 safe picks, and for the 10th spot I hesitate between Ned, Kuemper, Varly, Rask... but Ned had quite amazing stats

100% Agree with you on Barkov, as for Crosby he's still my favourite player but I think his place is top 5 right now.
(In my head both Crosby and Barkov are over Matthews/Drai.... but I just wanted to avoid drama out there lol)

It'll be interesting to see what Ned can do in Detroit. They've improved their D-core a bit, but he's still going to face a lot more high-danger shots than he did in Carolina. Wouldn't be surprised if Greiss ends up starting more often than he does this year, tbh.

Yeah I’m with Lenny here. Would just like to see more than 30 starts from Ned behind a really good team and stellar defense before throwing him in top 10/15. He’s got talent but he also outplayed what he’s done at every level of his career last season. Maybe he found something or maybe it was who he was playing in front of. Goalies are weird.

100%. Not saying that he's going to completely flop, but look at the Matt Murray/Martin Jones types that had excellent success early on behind strong d-cores, and then saw major regression when they started playing behind less stable defences. Buyer beware.

I’m rooting for him bc I don’t think the Canes did right by him even looking past this last offseason. But I do get the Canes standing strong on what they believe him to be. Probably would’ve been worth keeping him if he signed the same deal here that he did in DET but I really don’t think he was willing to do that and was happy going to arb here.

I'm always semi-confused by the management decisions in Carolina, but they have typically gone in the right direction over the past few years...

Normally rankings like these are pretty controversial but I gotta say there isn't a lot that can be argued here. Good stuff

They clearly look for value even when it might no be a popular opinion. Their social and marketing teams made people forget it’s still a business for them just like most other teams and the owner has shown he can be ruthless and not the most ethical person in his business dealings.

I think ultimately they’re rooted in their valuation models and stick to their guns if they think guys are buoyed more by the team than what they might bring to the table in a vacuum (dougie, Ned). Dougie is worth the money now but is he in 3 years? I actually liked that decision although he is one of my favs.

Drai is going to need to put up more than 30% of his offence in the time he plays c to be considered a top 10 c in the league
