They do have some potential long term 2Cs with Necas and KK but I don’t think they’re willing to let Troch go for futures to trust either of them this year. They’re in win now mode and moving Troch for futures doesn’t help that, even if value is not bad and they’re dealing from a position of strength. Nino is more likely the guy that gets moved, can never have too many centers.

Ryan Graves may have some size but he never used it in a way that would be described as "gritty." The Avs actively choose not to engage in physical play in most instances. And that payment for Trochek feels steep - they may be prospects but that's two first-rounders (late) while Ranta has a lot of upside as a big, mobile guy who shoots well. I like Vinny and it's an upgrade but not at that price. No way EJ waives to go to Ottawa or leaves them off his no-trade list.
