Slavin is probably 50 times the player Hughes is. They shouldn’t be in the same sentence. One guy is one of the best d men in the league, and the other can’t play adequately at 5 on 5. There’s a dozen guys that should be ahead of Hughes, and not a single one that should be ahead of slavin.

The measure of playing hockey. If you want a number i guess why was Hughes a -24? About half of his points come on the powerplay. He’s just not effective at 5 on 5. He’s really really bad in his own end.

What are you getting at here? It’s a pretty subjective sport. I would recommend watching. It’s pretty obvious.

Which data do you want? Analytics? Look at JFresh cards. Or WAR. Or RAPM. I'm confident that all of them will show you that Slavin is better. Or just watch them play. Hughes has struggled defensively and Fox will likely be on PP1. Half of Hughes' assists were on the PP last season. Slavin is a top 10 D-man. Hughes isn't in the top 30 right now.
