A hefty overpay for Monahan and a drastic underpay for Eichel.

Probably too much for Monahan, Boston can't fit him under the cap anyways, keep Backlund (who's not gonna waive) and just flip the assets gained from Monahan to Buffalo instead.

Don't agree with this, add Moore to the Monahan trade or retention and it's pretty close. Currently it is an overpay but not by that much.
As for the Eichel trade, the value there is definitely over 4 1sts its just a combination of assets that Buffalo probably isn't looking for as well as no chance Backlund waives

Remove Beecher from the Boston trade and it's fair.

Backlund doesn't have any value to Buffalo, and as you said won't waive. Dube to me isn't something Buffalo doesn't already have many of. If I'm buffalo, I'm not accepting unless both Zary and Mangiapane are in the deal. So those two and another pair of 1sts.

Im not sure either deal happens. You might be better off dropping the monahan to boston part and sending monahan to buffalo instead of dube and backlund who they don't want. Maybe get an olofsson or bjork with eichel depending on how well you do. Boston might be interested in a backlund deal...

I don't entirely disagree with removing Beecher but as it stands right now that puts Boston at least 2M over the cap, I think the price to dump Moore (or retain on Monahan) is around a 2nd, hence why I don't think the value is that far off.

Dube is actually the kind of player Buffalo would likely have interest in; proven team leader, fast skater, drive to win, relentless, still quite young, and has lots of team control. Mangiapane definitely won't be available and even if he was he could force his way out of Buffalo in 2 years due to his age. I agree that Zary would have to be involved.

My offer (and ive posted it before and gooten good feedback from both sides) would be Monahan + Zary + Dube + 2022 1st + a conditional pick on health. Then Monahan is flipped to the 3rd team (ie Boston) for like you said DeBrusk and a 1st in value (if Sabres retain or take back cap then it cost a little more)

Monahan won't waive to go to BUF though, but if his eventual destination (i.e. all part of the deal) is BOS, then he might

Yeah, and Moore's dump value isn't as drastic as a 2nd. It's a third tops.

it cost a 2nd to dump 1 year of Staal, it wont cost a 3rd to dump 2 years of Moore

If its a TDL trade its essentially one year, and his buyout is significantly less than staals to where it is feasible. If anything we should be using Panik as the comparison, since his cap was the same. That cost a 2nd for 3 years, but also that was widely seen as a drastic overpay.

Even at that, Monahan for Debrusk, Moore, 1st and 3rd is good value.

It wouldn't be TDL, Eichel is still more likely trad3d this summer than during the year. And Monahan wont be traded unless Eichel is going to Calgary. As for buyout, that can't be done again until the beginning of next summer

White has more value to Ottawa than DeBrusk, who’s had declining 5v5 p/60 numbers since his rookie season, and hasn’t been a top6 forward the last two seasons.

No its not. 5.5m in a cap dump is actually a 2nd on the money.

I don't really see a long term place for either of these players, but its easier to flip DeBrusk because less teams will hold off due to White's contract.
