Why is Kerfoot so demonized?

Nylander >> Ritchie [who is bad] and Chi doesn't want futures in return this year

Reilly is good and has value, but probably not to BUF.

Kerfoot is a solid player, dont get me wrong, but at 3.5mil and his levels of production in Toronto he is not worth a young guy and 2 probably high/mid round 2nds.

Nylander is no sure thing and ritche signed reasonable term and salary are probably not even, let alone adding a low 2nd (brooks is a borderline ahl/nhler IMO). I'd like both players, but nylander is now 23 and hasnt quite established himself as an nhler, ritchie, at worst, is still a big youngish guy, a 3rd liner with okay wheels and hands. Ritchie and the 2nd is still probably a win for CHI

too much for Nylander. Ottawa wouldnt do that for Kerfoot. Eichel isnt happening but lol

if buffalo is sending him to Toronto they're gonna want 3 more 1st rd picks (or value)

If Ristolainen could bring back a first, second and an NHL LHD, I would think Morgan Reilly would bring back at least as much.
IMO if he is traded to Buffalo other NHL GM's would know that Karmanos needs to flip him before the season is out and may not receive value.
IMO, Dubas would need to trade him then send the assets to Buffalo.
Mikheyev would fit right into the Buffalo line up, but he would be gone at the end of the season.
Amirov IMO is the best part of the deal. He is a first round pick from 2020 with a decent upside.
First round picks are nice but, these would be very late.
The total value going to Buffalo exceeds most offers that I have seen, unfortunately nearly half of it would be gone at seasons end unless they could be traded before the TDL.
Adding up all of the assets, it would be very difficult for me, if I were the Sabre's GM, to turn down.
I would need to find a team that would give me a good return for Reilly and sign Mikheyev to an extension before the trade took place.
