Have you seen the contracts handed out lately? This is also a 7 year deal (he's an rfa now and this is next year), so it's buying out 3 UFA years

he has no body of work on the scale of Makar, Nurse, Jones and BUF can't afford that deal in the short term

and what makes you think he'd sign anything else? no one wants to be in BUF and that's not changing in the next 3 years

He is literally on record saying he wants to be a core part of their rebuild. The nonsense you spew baffles me

lol just like Kotkaniemi? what else will he say when he has zero control and BUF is the most stubborn franchise in the league?

Kotkaniemi signed an offer sheet that could have been matched. Montreal basically traded him, he didn't force his way out.

You are delusional if you think Dahlin is signing a 4 year deal

Kotkaniemi said he wants to be part of MTL's core before he signed with CAR--thats the point.

I said that's what he's worth, not what he'd sign. He's less proven in the NHL than McAvoy and Chychrun when they signed RFA deals in flat cap.

even more to my point then and BUF has terrible contracts on their books, what team would you like them to build with 8m Dahlin who is an average Dman at this point

The KK situation is entirely different, i have no idea why you are even attempting to compare it.

How is he less proven? Chychrun had 54 career points in 171 games (0.32ppg) when he signed, McAvoy had 60 points in 117 games (0.51ppg). Dahlin has 107 points in 197 games (0.54ppg). Idk about you but that math tells me he is more proven

You literally cant just keep a player that is healthy on LTIR for 5 months. The league was very clear about carfully monitoring the Kucherov situation

because he's a turnover machine... tell me you've never watch a BUF game without telling me you've never watched a BUF game

Lol no thats just what happens when you always have the puck. Dahlin literally has less giveaways per game than McAvoy did before his first deal

Ive probably watched more Buffalo games live than youve seen on TV

lol at per game instead of per 60 which Dahlin is worse

i bet you've forgotten more hockey than I've ever learned yet you don't see Dahlin as a turnover machine. Must be a Kenny Holland scout.

    Dahlin is still better...
Dahlin's give/60 prior to this year was 2.26
McAvoy's give/60 prior to his current contract was 2.3

    Embarassing...

    (2.73 + 2.27 + 1.79) / 3 = 2.2633333

    xq9694h.png
    (2.71 + 1.89) / 2 = 2.3

    The math isn't hard
