If you through them a 1st instead of the 2nd, I think it’s close.

Not so sure given Hertl is a rental, so as is, this is close

Fair perspective from Chicago. I’m pretty certain SJS wouldn’t move him without a 1st, but Chicago doesn’t really make sense for Hertl IMO.

No it isn't. Why would SJ trade Hertl to acquire a veteran in Stome. Makes no sense at all - trading Hertl is a sign of a rebuild. If extending Hertl makes his value go up then SJ will do that. This trade isn't close.

Strome is younger than Hertl. I definitely agree that the trade is dumb, but you are in a rebuild. San Jose is in a downward spiral.

Exactly. A team in a downward spiral doesn't make matters worse by trading their best player for a borderline 3C and a B prospect. Lets be realistic here.

True, I don't think the Hawks should do this in the first place. We need good defensemen, not wingers.

Hertl has been a C since 2017. I don't know how no one knows this beside the fact they don't ever watch the Sharks. But yes, Chicagos focus should be Defense.

Hawks just picked up Jones and mccabe and have done young guys ready to contribute plus dehaan can step in to top 4 if needed. Hawks need higher quality wingers to slot others down.

Kurashev is a center allegedly and he has middle six upside if he even gets there. talk about overrating a prospect jeez this is a massive underpay. Trolling is for kids.

Remember this post when Kurashev is a top line player. That’s all I ask.

Trading Hertl isn't a sign of a rebuild, trading Hertl is smart because they will lose him for nothing after the season. Highly doubt Hertl wants to stay in San Jose and given the amount of bad contracts the Sharks are dealing with, Sharks have a tuff future ahead.

Strome is 24, that is still young for sure. Kurashev is only 21 and has a bright future after his rookie season.

The trade is close even if as a fan you might like the reality of it.

Strome a borderline 3C? LMAO You mean a borderline 2C and very solid 3C. And Kurashev is better then a B prospect; B prospects may or may not make the NHL and age 20 he showed he definitely belongs in the NHL.

Sharks would be morons not to trade Hertl instead of losing him for nothing...you don't seem to be grasping the fact that he's a UFA not a RFA.

Shaking my head....you don't know Kurashev and haven't watched much of him. He's a middle 6 winger that can jump in at center, but he's a two way winger in the NHL and a 3rd liner today that has top 6 upside.
