Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

CGY has a solid/spoken for RD but needs a top tier offensive minded LD to play ahead of Hanafin and be paired with Tanev.
TOR has RW locked up for the year with Marner/Nylander/Kase and Spezza slotting in very nicely, but needs a top tier LW to play with Mathews+Marner/Nylander or Tavares+Marner/Nylander (however the line 1 and line 2 duos get deployed this year)

Both Rielly and Gaudreau fill the needs for the respective acquiring teams and both are on expiring contracts with pending UFA statuses.

CGY needs a #3C and Kerfoot fits the bill perfectly.

Leafs need cap space, so take Ritchie and a couple picks (2022 2nd whick is sure to be a late 2nd (FLA) and a 2023 7th)

Both teams again fill needs they have. Deal makes total sense form both sides AND... these teams do have a bit of a history for making blockbusters with eachother! :) (The Gilmour + Phaneuf trades people!!!)

Doesn’t Calgary have Backlund there?

All guys in the system now that I would give a shot at C before bringing in Kerfoot to play behind Lindholm, Monahan, Backlund

ive seen this before an i still don't understand the insinuation that Morgan Reilly gets you Johnny Gaudreau+.

Gaudreau is the best player in this trade. Kerfoot as you mentioned is a cap dump. If Toronto wants to add gaudreau it will be them adding picks not Calgary.

If Lindholm is at center - who is playing right wing on the top line? Lewis? Some prospect I have never heard of? come on.

Trading Gaudreau we have Tkachuk Mangiapane Dube all able to play that top line RW

ok, then who plays 2nd line RW? Cmon now. Backlund is a sufficient #2C especially when the drop down to 3C is NOT a huge when when Kerfoot is plugged in there.
