I watched Brannstrom a few times and he has plenty of skill but a long way away from being a reliable defenseman. Definitely wouldn't trade Thomas for him, especially considering that puck moving LHD is a pretty low priority for the Blues.

This is a good idea but the problem is the Blues have Torey Krug under contract for 6 more years.

And Krug is pretty much what Erik Brannstrom could become if he hits his max potential. I have said for years that Brannstrom is going to be between Tobias Enstrom and Torey Krug

Blues not ideal trade partners here
