Lol I see what you are saying but I don't see wilson getting any better offers for hertl on his last year of his deal

They can but I don't think they will... only time will tell I just think ottawa is a player when it come to acquiring hertl and they do have the pieces... unless hertl comes with an extension no team will give up much more imo

Not saying that, Wilson would sign Hertl to an extension previously agreed upon between him (Hertl) and the team he's being traded too. This would get the sharks more value.

You mean trade then extension. Like it happened with Mark Stone for example

Don't feel like Ottawa got more value out of it. Maybe Wilson can do better but even though Brannstrom is a great prospect, this was underwhelming for one of the best 2-way wingers in the game

That being said, there was also a 2nd round pick coming back and they drafted Egor Sokolov with that pick, who looks more and more like a beast. Might be able to salvage this one.
