With Sid And Geno out PT 1

Created by: SpaghettiHead11
Team: 2021-22 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 11, 2021
Published: Sep. 11, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Bozak signing is laced with 3 bonus levels. GP (70), goals (15) and points (30) with $500k per stat level. Given the cap room for next year they can afford him going above expectations. Experiment at RD with Matheson. They don't have any full time RD-3 players right now that can play full time minutes so given all the options they have, without giving up significant assets they can run Matheson, Lauzon, Rud's and Freidman depending on the success.

I actually like this idea, but I don't know if Seattle takes it. They didn't take Zucker in the expansion draft. Maybe that was just the cap hit, but they could have gotten him for nothing if they wanted. I'm fairly confident that he could bounce back next season. The thing I just don't understand is having Heinen on the top line. People have been making him a healthy scratch here. I don't know why they do that, but this is the opposite extreme. I love the signing and I think he'll do well in Pittsburgh but I don't see him as a middle six guy right now.

I started him on the first line just given his familiarity with Carter having played against him for a couple years. I think he could gel with Sid once he's back so giving him pseudo 1st line minutes, given the way most of these guys will be playing more time than usual till Sid and Geno are back, hopefully gets his lungs full. I don't think Zuck is a bad player but they have so many options at LW that a 5.5 guy playing 3rd line minutes is cap suicide. Eat a bit of the cap and gain depth in areas they lack. I also really like Geekie. I have been trading for him for a few years. I would honestly add to that trade to get him.
