I don't know about Dumba. Minnesota is so hard to read. They never seem to have an overall strategy with their moves (or at least not a good one).
I don't think he's the right target for Montreal however. For better or worse, we've committed to our top 4 RHD already. Improvements would have to come on the left side.

Gourde is one of Seattle's big gets from the draft, so I don't see them moving him.

Make it one move you’d do because Seattle declines.

I like targeting these players, it'll probably cost more though.

You're really trading a first and second for Dumba. The other pieces pretty meaningless, as Minni could acquire similar players with that cap.
Gourde and his term and being centre...far too valuable to give for really not much.

Dumba is easily worth a late 1st and a mid-late 2nd!
palhal liked this.

Both teams decline. Gourde is clearly Seattle's best center and is signed for term. Minnesota needs a quality top-6 center now, not a future one needing further development like Poehling. The Wild would only be interested in Suzuki, and you're not trading him.

Habs 3 players short for full roster
Doesn’t work cap wise
Why would Habs trade for a rental at this point … maybe wait to see if they are on the playoff picture by trade deadline
Also, Carolina’s pick is already part of Dovark trade condition/ option
