Sharks don’t need more LD; they need C and RD and I don’t see that in that offer.

Sounds dumb from an outsider. Cap says our future D, RD; Fox Nils BS. LD; KAM Robertson Jones. Probably cant afford stud Lindgren, Trouba gone @1/2 after 24 or even bought after 23, Nemeth will have to go. Our young Ds are needed

is the expectation really that schneider won’t be nhl ready/ready for a full time role for three more seasons? feels like moving him to strengthen another area of weakness on the team is a smart play since he’ll be blocked by trouba for the forseeable future

After 24; only 30yrs old, big solid presence, 2x4m for Trouba would be gold for gms, whether you like him or not lol. If concussions catch up to him ltir, if he forgets how to be a shut down D we buy him out, which isn't much worse than retention. Aim before you shoot

What's dumb is moving a blue chip prospect and a 1st in a deep draft for a player about to go UFA. If Hertl comes with an extension or the Rangers are allowed to have contact with him to be assured he will be extended...then I'd consider this offer. Just like LA is in no rush to unload all their C prospects- even though they made a big UFA signing- the Rangers should be in no rush to move D prospects- even though they seemingly have an embarrassment of riches of blueline prospects.
