That is probably an instant match.
That isn't enough to dump Lucic
You don't sign someone then immediately trade him.
Buffalo has no use for Backlund. They decline
Kylington isn't worth that much

It's definitely enough to dump Lucic at that retention, in fact I would say Calgary definitely doesn't do it

Kylington was on waivers last year and could be again this year.

Only because flames didn't have space for him. Kylington has good potential, but for some reason, we keep wasting our opportunity to play him

Don't sign Chara or Ennis, not needed at all. Chara's already said he wont sign anywhere but the metro division anyways.
Also Edmonton 100% matches because that is less than what he is probably asking from them right now.
Replace Pelletier with Zary in the Sabres trade, Monahan will 100% be flipped instantly since he won't waive there and Buffalo will want a new center prospect more than a winger.
Hanifin and Andersson will probably be paired together
Lucic at 2.5M retention actually has value
Kylington has potential but he will likely just be claimed off waivers if a team is willing to give him a shot

It's possible but if someone wanted him, they could just claim him. We'll see in a month.

The day he was placed on waivers was like 12 hours before teams submitted their rosters (along with over 100 other players), most teams were pressed against the cap already and would have had to send someone down who was waiver exempt just to grab him.

I am not trying to argue he is worth a 3rd just that him going on waivers on the last day of the offseason does not mean he he has zero value around the league and no one wants him, for example Nedeljkovic was also placed on waivers that same day

I thought edmonton has like no more capspace left, that's why I only offered 2 mill

You really want to piss off a division rival with such a petty offer sheet for a third line player?

I didn't say he's worthless either but I don't see a team trading for him right now when they know he could be on the waivers in a month. If he gets playing time, plays well and CGY decide to trade him, then yes, he could bring back a mid round pick.

They have about 2.5M after placing Klefbom on LTIR for the season, maybe 3M if they manage their cap well enough

100% agree, all I am arguing is your point about him being on waivers last year, it's often used as an excuse for him because it's pulled out of context

I think Edmonton won't be able to match 3.45 mil unless they do a trade. (just edited it)

I think Calgary would be stupid to OS him for anything that high, he is a small winger that barely produces with the 2 league leading scorers. He is worth about the same as Dube and I would not want to pay anything above that for him, especially to just play on the 3rd line

In your above scenario it is WAY better to just keep Lucic and the picks as he will be a more effective role player on that line

Neither does Boston, he’d be on waivers here too.
