The habs aren’t trading Gallagher, and that trade is ridiculously bad for Montréal. I would say the Canucks aren’t trading Boeser, but they certainly would for this overpay.

who are you going to move between harris norlinder strubble brook guhle considering you are not resigning Chiarot?

What will be your 7 D men in 2 years from now?

Depending on progression in 2 years our D will most likely be

Guhle-Petry
Norlinder-Romanov
Struble-Mailloux

I would say most likely scenario is we trade Brook, Harris and Edmundson before that

I wouldn't take Gallagher even if you were offering him for free

You forgot Savard. Mailloux will play in the AHL a couple years IMO. Are you reigning Chiarot next summer or not?

You forgot Savard, he still under contract in 2023-2024. Are you signing Chiarot next year?

I prefer harris to norlinder.

Edmundson Romanov
Guhle Petry
Harris Savard
Strubble Brook make sense for me, but i agree norlinder will play top 4 in the nhl

1. I did not forget Savard you asked which of harris norlinder strubble brook guhle were going to be moved. I added Edmundson I didn't trade Savard as we don't know how the prospects will progress so he may end up being our 7th or 3rd pairing D since RHD are hard to find.
2. you said in 2 years (so the 2023-2024 season) and in 2 years Mailloux could very well be on the roster as he will have spent 1 year in a minor league somewhere and 2022-23 in Laval
3. I would not resign Chiarot as Edmundson and Savard offer the same play style

I'd probably rather Boeser to Gallagher in 2 years regardless of contract because one will be 31 and one will be 26. Given the long term contract and Montreal having enjoyed the best two years of it, I don't think I'd made that trade if I were Vancouver.

Today sure, it's a different story. But in two years, nah

Guhle's not gonna be near NHL ready in 2 years let alone top 4

Struble definitely won’t be NHL ready in 2 years. Brook is unlikely to be a top 4 defenseman in his career, so he can be the 7th D.

There’s a possibility Harris gets moved, but barring that he just doesn’t make the NHL until Edmundson’s contract is up. (Which will also coincide with him becoming waiver eligible)

Of course I’d rather have Boeser than Gallagher in 2 years, but this trade is absolutely ridiculous. Norlinder is the biggest piece of the deal for the habs here, and even if you were willing to move him (I’m not) the extra stuff added is crazy. Especially since by that time Norlinder will likely have a full NHL season under his belt.
